The national coach of the Hispanics, Jordi Ribera, offered this Monday the list of players summoned to carry out the first stage of preparation for the European Championship in Slovakia and Hungary 2022, which will take place from December 26 to 30 in Madrid, with Iñaki Peciña and Kauldi Odriozola as great novelties.
Iñaki Peciña and Kauldi Odriozola participated in various activities with Jordi Ribera and debuted as Hispanics with Ribera at the 2018 Tarragona Mediterranean Games, receiving a bronze medal. Now they will start preparing for the 2022 European Championship.
Also noteworthy are the returns of Aitor Ariño, injured for a long time last March – he was in the games against Slovakia and Argentina-; and Joan Cañellas, who did the Olympic training but was prevented from being in Tokyo by an injury.
Others, meanwhile, start their way to what could be their first major international event, should they make the final list: we are talking about Agustín Casado, Ian Tarrafeta or Chema Márquez.
The national coach, Jordi Ribera, assured that some players who had not been able to be there are incorporated regarding the last activity. “In principle, a block in which we think are those who may be in a better moment right now,” he valued.
