The French defender Benjamin Pavard participated this Monday in part of the training with the group of Bayern Munich and aim for the semifinal of the Champions League against Olympique Lyon to be played on Wednesday, the German club reported.
Pavard was injured three weeks ago in a training in the ligaments of the left foot and has wanted to speed up his recovery to be available in the final stretch of the Champions League.
In the 2-8 victory against Barcelona Pavard was not in the squad and it is highly possible, regardless of the player's progress, that he is not in the starting lineup against Lyon.
After the win against Barcelona it is foreseeable that the coach, Hansi Flick, repeat the same starting team.
Pavard, during the final phase of the Bundesliga, served as a right back making it possible for Joshua Kimmich to move to midfield. Therefore, it is most likely that Kimmich will continue in the band on Wednesday and that the double pivot will be Thiago Alcántara and Leon Goretzka.
