Pau Gasol, Alexia Putellas, Cerezo and Madrid City Council will be awarded by the ISDE Sports Convention 2022

The third edition of the international congress of sports industry and law is held this Friday in Madrid

The former basketball player Pau Gasol, the best soccer player in the world Alexia Putellas, the president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, and the Madrid City Council will be the winners at the gala of the III ISDE Sports Convention (ISC) 2022, the international congress of sports industry and law that will be held this Friday in Madrid.

Former Lakers and FC Barcelona player Pau Gasol will be recognized with the 2022 ISC Legend Award after a career in which he won two NBA championship rings, two gold medals at the 2006 and 2019 World Cups, silver medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and bronze in Rio 2016 and, among other achievements, three ACB Leagues.

The FC Barcelona international Alexia Putellas, Ballon d’Or and FIFA’s The Best Award in 2021 as the best player in the world, will be honored with the National Award. In addition, the ISC will honor Enrique Cerezo for his Institutional Sports Career, who last March celebrated 1,000 games as president of Atlético de Madrid, a club that has won ten titles -two Leagues, one Copa del Rey, one Spanish Super Cup, three Leagues Europe and three European Super Cups – during his tenure.

Likewise, the head of the Delegated Area of ​​Sport of the Madrid City Council, Sofía Miranda, will collect the Prize for Sports Innovation for the Madrid council for the designation of ACES Europe of the city as World Capital of Sport in this 2022, a year in which which will host high-level competitions such as the recent Mutua Madrid Open for tennis and the Madrid Marathon, the Global Champions Tour for horse riding, the Madrid Urban Sports or the Spanish Open for golf.

In the previous edition of 2019, the ISC awarded the three-time boxing world champion, Joana Pastrana; the president of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo Nazario, and the Olympic badminton champion at the Rio 2016 Games and recent six-time European champion, Carolina Marín.

The awards ceremony will be held during the third edition of the ISDE Sports Convention (ISC) 2022, the international legal-sports congress organized by the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE) in collaboration with LaLiga and the Madrid City Council and which will take place this Friday in the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens of the El Retiro park in the capital of Spain.

Aimed at senior representatives and managers of sports law companies, Marketing and Communication directors and students specializing in sports law, ISC 2022 will analyze the application of good governance in sports entities and bodies, the new social levers in sport, the promotion of women’s sport, sustainability and, among other issues, the digitalization process accelerated by the pandemic.

Organized in the hybrid mode, face-to-face and via streaming, ISC 2022 will feature top-level speakers such as the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas; the president of the Spanish Sports Association (ADESP), José Hidalgo; the General Director of Sports of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Albert Soler; the vice president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and president of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM), Francisco Blázquez, the sports director of the COE, Ricardo Leiva, and the president of the National Court, José Ramón Navarro.
