Pats player Kayshon Boutte was arrested for betting on sports while underage.

Louisiana State Police arrested Patriots wide Kayshon Boutte on Thursday as part of their inquiry into illegal sports betting.

The bets and payouts were worth “several hundred thousand dollars,” according to WAFB. However, Boutte, who is now 21 years old, never bet “against himself.”

When Boutte was a 20-year-old sophomore at LSU, he was accused of using a fake account to place bets, some of which were on Tigers games. In Louisiana, it is illegal for people under 21 to gamble.

From April 6, 2022, to May 7, 2023, 8,900 bets were made on the account that Boutte is thought to have used. At least 17 of those bets were on NCAA football matches, with at least six of them being on LSU games.

In July 2023, LSU learned of claims that a former student-athlete had done wrong things while at the university related to sports betting, the school said in a statement.

As of that moment, we have cooperated completely with all authorities associated with the investigation, and we will continue doing so.

There is no proof that any other pupils took part in these illegal activities, and we appreciate measures that find and discourage misconduct related to sports gambling.

Louisiana’s WAFB-TV reported Thursday that New England Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte had been apprehended in Baton Rouge in charges of illegal online gambling.

The Louisiana State Police declared in a news release that Boutte was accused of making up a fake name that said he was 21 or older so that he could bet illegally on sports games while he was young and at LSU. The investigation has not ended yet.

At the time, Boutte was 20 years old. He is said to have made over 8,900 bets between April 6, 2022, and May 7, 2023. At least 17 of those bets were on college football games, and 6 of those 17 were in LSU football games.

Sources at WAFB say that Boutte never bet “against himself” and never threw games, even though some of his illegal bets happened during his last season with the Tigers. “Several hundred thousand dollars” were reportedly bet and paid out.

One count of computer theft is a felony, and one count of gaming while under 21 is a misdemeanor. Boutte was arrested.

In July 2023, LSU learned of claims that a former student-athlete had done wrong things while at the university related to sports betting, the school said in a statement.

As of that moment, we have fully cooperated with all authorities involved in the investigation, and we will continue to do so.

There is no proof that any additional student-athletes took part in these illegal activities, and we appreciate measures that find and discourage misconduct related to sports gambling.

Brady receiver Kayshon Boutte has been having a bad time in Louisiana. Boutte was caught on video gambling online in Baton Rouge, which is against the law.

The man named Boutte turned him in on Thursday. He is being charged with Computer Fraud, which is a felony, and Gaming is Prohibited for Persons Under 21.

Boutte, who turned 21 in May, is accused of making a fake online gaming account that said he was at least 21 years old so that he could lawfully gamble while he was still a student at LSU.

According to a statement from the Patriots, the team is “aware that Kayshon Boutte is cooperating via Louisiana police regarding their inquiries into an underage gambling charge whilst he was a student at Louisiana State University.” It doesn’t look like the team will say anything else about it.

It was said that New England Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte bet on sports illegally while he was at Louisiana State University, and he was arrested Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Louisiana State Police say Boutte, who is 21 years old, is being charged with felony computer fraud and misdemeanor gambling while under the age of 21. Police said the investigation is still going on and that more charges could be brought.

The Louisiana State Police Gaming Compliance Division found that Boutte backed sports bets from April 6, 2022, until May 7, 2023, when he was 20 years old.

Boutte allegedly employed a fake name to avoid being caught in Louisiana for not being old enough to bet on sports.

Police say the alias account that Boutte is thought to have used placed a total of 8,900 bets, including at least 17 on NCAA football games, with at least six of those games involving LSU.

The NCAA doesn’t let players bet on any sport, and if they are caught, they face different punishments depending on whether they bet on their team or their school.

According to police, Boutte kept betting for about a week after the Patriots picked him up in the sixth selection of the 2023 draft. Players in the NFL can bet on sports, but not on things that have to do with the league.
