MADRID, 9 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Paquito Navarro and the Argentine Martín Di Nenno have played their last match as a couple, conquering the Adeslas Santander Cantabria Open 2022, a test of the World Padel Tour, after beating Fernando Belasteguín and Arturo Coello in the final (6-2, 6- 0), while Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar lifted their eighth title of the season against Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez (6-2, 6-1).
At the Palacio de los Deportes de Santander, couple number three won the fourteenth Open of the season against couple number four. Paquito and Martín started with a 2-0 lead and got the heat back on track with another ‘break’ in the seventh game, and achieved a ‘donut’ in the second set with which they said goodbye to their adventure together.
In the women’s final, Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar, number two couple in the world, raised their eighth title of the year against the number ones, Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez, with whom they were measured for the tenth time this season.
Despite the break with which the best duo on the circuit started, Triay and Salazar managed to turn the score around to win the opening partial; already in the second, they put a 2-0 that allowed them to manage their advantage and seal their final victory.
