The Brazilian Palmeiras won their first women’s Copa Libertadores this morning after beating the Argentine Boca Juniors in the final held in Quito (4-1), while the Colombian América de Cali beat Deportivo Cali (5-0) to win the third position of the South American tournament.
Ary Borges put ‘Verdão’ ahead after five minutes and Brisa Priori responded for the Argentines scoring in the 12th minute. After the tie at half-time, Byanca returned the advantage to the Brazilian team as soon as the match resumed (min. 48), and Poliana (min.57) and Bia Zaneratto (min.88) sentenced the contest.
In this way, Palmeiras won the title with a perfect score by winning all their matches and within regulation time. Thus, it gives Brazil the fifth title in the competition, after the successes of Santos (2009 and 2010), Sao José (2014) and Corinthians (2021).
