Pablo Machín: “We must forget this and raise our heads quickly”

MADRID, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Elche CF coach, Pablo Machín, made a self-criticism this Wednesday after his team’s defeat (4-0) against Real Madrid, at the same time that he acknowledged seeing “old ghosts”, although he spoke of turning the page to “forget” this game and “raise your head” as soon as possible in search of salvation.

“The best thing is to recognize that we have not been well. It has to hurt us, but we have to get through the duel as soon as possible. Apart from the fact that we have faced the best club in the world, we could have been somewhat better. The start of the game It wasn’t bad and then Real Madrid immediately penalized us with their quality. From then on we saw old ghosts. I think we should forget about this and raise our heads quickly”, the coach said at a press conference.

The coach spoke of the rival’s superiority, although he was convinced of the team’s recovery for the next game. “It is true that it has given the feeling that we have been very vulnerable. They have easily planted themselves on the edge of the area. That annoys us, but the footballers are the first they want and when you face these players things seem easy. They have quality and it’s very difficult, that’s why they are at Real Madrid and we are in the situation we are in. I am convinced that in the next game we are going to perform”, he pointed out.

“It is true that we have not played the game that we would like, but we are not the first nor the last team that is going to feel subdued by Madrid. This is the order of the day for small teams. Our fans know that we are going to do it give everything in the next game”, he added.

In addition, the Elche coach acknowledged that the games that remain in the League are “final”. “For us all the games are important. We were convinced that we could get something positive beyond a good image. Also, if you have options and you don’t materialize, they end up penalizing you. We have also noticed the casualties. For us they are all final, we are all aware of the situation. We want to bring joy to the fans and also to the dressing room,” he said.
