Pablo Iglesias compares the Spanish press with Hitler’s Nazi soldiers and aligns himself with Putin

Former Vice President of the Government Pablo Iglesias compares Spanish journalists with Nazi soldiers from “Hitler’s army”. He says this because he maintains that the US is responsible for the destruction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline off the coast of Norway, a theory that has received little credibility in the media.

Iglesias refers to a blog published by the American journalist Seymour Hersh (Pulitzer Prize winner in 1970), who supports the theory that US divers were responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipeline, to stop the energy supply of Putin’s Russia. to Europe. Seymour Hersh attributes the information to a single anonymous source linked to intelligence services but does not provide proof of authorship.

Iglesias not only takes this information for granted, but also lashes out with obvious aggressiveness against the Spanish media for not believing it. Neither do the big North American media buy this supposed information that, on the other hand, makes perfectly clear the alignment of Pablo Iglesias with the theories of Vladimir Putin.

Iglesias charges against the Spanish media because he considers that they present the Russian invasion of Ukraine as “a sort of national liberation war of the Ukrainian people against the Russian invader, in which Western support for Ukraine responds to humanitarian reasons and defense of democracy against authoritarianism. Some have not hesitated to compare Ukraine with the Spanish Republic abandoned by the democratic powers after the uprising of Franco”.

Well, given the scant credibility given to the theory that it was the US who attacked the Nord Stream off the coast of Norway, Pablo Iglesias exploded against the press and attacked, among others, with Ana Rosa Quintana, Pedro J. Ramírez or Francisco Marhuenda: “To all that nauseating media world, Debates about ethics in journalism slip away from them,” writes Iglesias. “They will always be willing to repeat any lie a thousand times, to accept false documents and to give journalism awards to each other without any shame. They have neither scruples nor conscience problems, “he says. “That one of the great achievements of Podemos has been to put them in front of a mirror may have bothered them, but it has only ratified their corrupt practices,” he adds.

“There will always be those who say that, even in the world of the media right, there are valuable professionals or even precarious journalists without bad intentions who basically work to support themselves and their families,” continues Iglesias.

“Also in Hitler’s army there were good people, fathers of families who embraced their young children with true love, officers who would have preferred the Nazis not to come to power, and even generous young men capable of the greatest heroism in battle and even of being merciful to the defeated enemy or of having a humane gesture with the Jew who was going to be gassed. But they were part of Hitler’s army. Period”, says the former leader of Podemos.
