Orbelín, the ghost signing

Orbelín Pineda’s beginnings in Europe have not been easy at all. The Mexican attacker landed in Vigo at the beginning of the year with the illusion of having an immediate impact in LaLiga after triumphing in his country. But nevertheless, he is anchored in ostracism, without the possibility of having debuted with his new club. At the moment, he already has four calls and zero minutes. So far in 2022 he has only participated with the Mexican team.

He arrived free from Cruz Azul, but without Coudet’s endorsement, something he is paying too dearly for. El Chacho did not request his hiring and is reinforcing his position with the board, keeping El Maguito on the bench permanently. Against Cádiz he did not even exhaust the changes and Orbelín returned to stay without playing.

The pulse that Coudet maintains with the board due to the ‘Denis Case’ is turning Orbelín Pineda into collateral damage. The Mexican is a Mouriño signing and El Chacho is determined to enhance his commanding position on the pitch. The lack of activity is no excuse, since Solari, Ferreyra or Galhardo made their debut as soon as they arrived after a long inactivity.
