PARIS, Aug. 10 (dpa/EP) –
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 28 to September 8, have only sold half of the event’s tickets 18 days before the start of the competition, the Organizing Committee announced.
The Olympic Games conclude on Sunday, when organisers begin a short period of time to reconfigure the venues for the Paralympic Games, which start on 28 August and end on 8 September.
The president of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, Tony Estanguet, told a press conference that they were satisfied with the sales figures, adding that five times more tickets are now being sold for the Paralympic event than at the start of the Olympic Games.
According to the organisers, more than three million tickets for the Paralympic Games have already been sold. For the Olympic Games, 9.5 million of the approximately 10 million tickets were sold, a record in the history of the Olympic event, Estanguet said.
