The hourglass might be a sign that the Lakers need to make a trade because they are rapidly running out of time to get better.
The Los Angeles Lakers are once again going downhill. They had a short stretch where they won five of seven games, but then they lost two straight games to the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks, who they probably should have beaten easily.
Even worse, the team’s defense, which wasn’t too bad for most of the season, is now a major flaw.
Houston scored 135 points against them, and Atlanta scored 138. Their defense in transition and on the boards was also very bad.
They have a 24–25 record now, and there isn’t much time left for them to go on a long run like they did at the end of last season.
Or James is telling the Lakers that his time with them is coming to an end because he will be an independent player after the season.

Gasol was traded from Memphis to Toronto in the middle of the 2018–19 season. The 2019 championship banner for Toronto would not have been there without him.
He brought defense in the paint and the ability to pass, which helped Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, and the rest of the team.
He is a legend in Spanish basketball. Along with his brother Pau, he was part of a great team that won two FIBA World Championships (in 2006 and 2019) and the EuroBasket 2009 gold medal. He also won two silver medals at the Olympics in 2008 and 2012.
Hawks fans were yelling obscenities at D’Angelo Russell in the stadium, and Christian Wood may have hit head coach Darvin Ham with a passive-aggressive tweet less than an hour before the game started when he found out that Jaxson Hayes would be starting at center.
