MADRID, 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish artistic swimming swimmer Ona Carbonell highlighted the importance of managing certain financial knowledge for athletes, in a colloquium held this Tuesday in Malaga, on financial education and sport, organized by the Edufinet Project of Unicaja

Within the framework of EdufiSport, an initiative promoted by the Edufinet Project of Unicaja, the Olympic medalist and ambassador for Obra y Acción Social of CECA, Ona Carbonell, participated this Tuesday in an interview-colloquium on financial education and sports.

During the event, which had the collaboration of CECA and the Unicaja Baloncesto Club, Carbonell answered a series of questions related to sport and financial education, followed by a discussion on the same topic and where he requested training for athletes.

In this sense, the swimmer claimed that sports professionals can “manage their finances and make the best financial decisions”

Despite the fact that athletes often have specialized counseling services, there is a growing awareness of the need for them to have a minimum capacity to address basic economic, financial and fiscal decisions.

For the Catalan, it is necessary to have a “knowledge” that “allows managing finances and being well advised to know how to make the best financial decisions.”

EdufiSport EdufiSport is a microsite included in the Edufinet website, which offers various content with which to respond to the needs and concerns of athletes in relation to financial knowledge.

The Edufinet Project, promoted by Unicaja Banco and the Unicaja Foundation, already has a history of more than 15 years, and currently has the support of 16 universities and more than a dozen business entities and organizations.
