It is official: Monza, a Serie B club (the Second Italian) that belongs to Silvio Berlusconi, announced this Monday the signing of striker Mario Balotelli, who signs a contract until 2021. Monza, promoted to Serie B, wants this season go up to Serie A. At the moment, it is 9th in the table.
Adriano Galliani, Berlusconi's right arm at Monza as he was at Milan, already advanced last Saturday the incorporation of Balotelli, 30 years old and who had been without a team since he left Brescia in the summer, who with the attacker in his ranks could not stay in Serie A.
Mario Balotelli, international 36 times for Italy, 14 goals scored as ‘azzurro’, underwent a medical examination this Monday and will need some training time to get physically full, having been away from the competition.
Roberto Mancini, Italy coach, regretted in October that Mario Balotelli had not yet found a team. The coach of the ‘azzurra’ said that the attacker could “be useful” to the national team and especially thinking about Euro-2021. At Monza Balotelli he will be teammates with former Barcelona player Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Silvio Berlusconi acquired Monza in September 2018 for € 3 million after selling Milan in April 2017 for € 740 million.
