Étienne Capoue is already a new Villarreal player for the remainder of the season and two more seasons. The Castellón team has already made the signing of the French midfielder official until June 2023.
Although Villarreal has not wanted to make official the figures of this transfer, the operation has been closed for about 2 million euros. An effort that the yellow team was forced to make after confirming the injury and the loss of Vicente Iborra, a vital player in the game scheme of Emery's team.
Capoue's was from the first moment the best option and the priority, something that coach Unai Emery had already recognized. “It was an option that seemed the best to all parties”, the yellow technician commented.
Capoue is an experienced player who comes to Villarreal after a long career and after having played for Toulose, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford himself. Teams in which he has played more than 400 official matches.
The player joins his team's work and training on Thursday, although he will not be able to play until the club can register him once the winter market opens, from next January 4.
