It is official from the first hour of this Thursday: The Electoral Commission has confirmed David Aganzo as the winner of the AFE elections held on April 9 after the provisional triumph announced last week that was contested by his rival at the polls, Gaizka Toquero. The former Real Madrid striker, among other teams, has been re-elected by a large majority after a third-world count of several days full of incidents and tensions, so He will serve his second term at the head of the soccer players' union (until 2025), which he arrived in 2017 replacing Luis Rubiales.
AFE has communicated that the results announced last Thursday are ratified. With an electoral census of 11,908 footballers with the right to vote and 4,994 votes cast (4,878 by mail, 116 in person, 74 invalid and 33 blank), Aganzo obtained 3,079 votes to Toquero's 1,808. Tomorrow, Friday, he will appear before the media at 12:00.

Nomination of David Aganzo: 3,079 votes.

According to the Statutes of AFE, “the elected members of the Board of Directors will exercise their functions for a period of four years.”
