Obradoiro-Betis and Cartagena-San Pablo Burgos, in the Final Four of the Spanish Cup

The matches Monbus Obradoiro vs Real Betis and Odilo FC Cartagena vs Silbö San Pablo Burgos will be the semifinals in the fight for the title of the first edition of the Spanish Cup, whose Final Four will be played on January 24 and 25 in a venue still to be determined.

After a path traced over the last five months, with 88 games played in total and with 40 teams in contention, this Tuesday’s resolution for the quarterfinal pairings provided these crossings and left out another favorite like Movistar Students.

Not in vain, San Pablo Burgos tied (91-91) during their visit to the Movistar Academy Magariños and made good their 96-58 victory in the first leg. In addition, Betis beat Alimerka Oviedo again, this time by 78-71 and in the first leg it had been 78-82; and Monbus Obradoiro beat UEMC Real Valladolid, as their 65-61 score in the second leg overcame the 80-78 score in the first leg.

Finally, the fourth member of the Final Four was decided in the extra time of the duel between FC Cartagena vs Amics Castelló. The 89-76 score in the first leg had made survival difficult for the Cartagena team, but in the second leg they neutralized their disadvantage and finally won 107-88.
