Nuria Párrizas says goodbye in the first round of the Miami tournament

MADRID, 22 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Nuria Párrizas was eliminated this Tuesday in the first round of the Miami tournament, in the WTA 1,000 category, which is played on a hard court, after falling at the hands of the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad in two sets (7-6(2) and 6-2) in one hour and 49 minutes of play.

Párrizas, a semifinalist this year in Monterrey, came to the event after falling in the first round at Indian Wells and could not help but follow the same path in Miami. The Granada could have changed her luck in an even first set, but the second fell clearly for Haddad with three service breaks.

The goodbye of Párrizas leaves the Miami tournament with three Spanish representatives in the main draw. Sara Sorribes, who is in the second round after successfully overcoming her debut last Monday, as well as Paula Badosa and Garbiñe Muguruza, fifth and seventh favorites, respectively, who have not yet debuted in the US tournament.
