Noussair Mazraoui, denounced criminally for his pro-Palestine post

MUNICH (GERMANY), Nov. 1 (dpa/EP) –

The president of the German-Israeli Society, Volker Beck, has declared that he has filed a criminal complaint against Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui in relation to a pro-Palestine post on social networks and has called the management “pathetic”. of the matter by the Bavarian club.

Beck told the newspaper Bild, in a report published this Wednesday, that he filed the complaint with the Munich police and prosecutor’s office because “the approval of crimes against humanity is punishable.”

Mazraoui had shared a video on social media wishing for a victory for Palestine following the October 7 attack on Israel by the Islamist militant group Hamas from the Gaza Strip, which it controls. The conflict has left thousands dead on both sides.

“The statement ‘help our oppressed brothers in Palestine achieve victory’ can only be understood as an endorsement of Hamas’ actions after the October 7 massacre,” Beck said.

Bayern decided not to sanction Mazraoui after holding talks with the club’s leaders, which was also criticized by Beck, a Green Party deputy between 1994 and 2017 and its leader until 2013.

“Even after Mazraoui’s verbal evasions, there cannot be a simple ‘let’s forget it’. Bayern’s handling of this matter is pathetic. I hope that justice will make the club’s officials aware of the magnitude of the incident,” he opined.

Bayern’s decision not to sanction Mazraoui was previously criticized by the Central Committee of Jews in Germany and by Bayern fan club Kurt Landauer Zurich.

Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui will continue in the team and will not be sanctioned after his statements in favor of Palestine in the war with Israel, ensuring that both the Moroccan international and the German club are opposed “to the Middle East conflict and its violence will move to Germany.

“Bayern is convinced that football must develop its power to balance different cultures, especially in the most difficult moments. Noussair Mazraoui will remain in the FC Bayern squad, but is currently sidelined due to an injury he suffered during a match international with the Moroccan team,” reported the Bavarian entity.
