Both of these teams have played each other four times in the NCAA playoffs in the last three years. Last two years, Clemson stopped Notre Dame’s season.

First, in the College Cup semifinals in 2021, and then in the ACC Tournament the next year. Tigers: The Irish got back at them early this season by beating them 3-2 in South Bend on September 9.

Before the game, it was already known that the ACC would win its third straight soccer men’s national championship. However, No. 14 Clemson beat Notre Dame 2-1 to end its amazing run and win the title in 2024.

In the 27th minute, Brandon Parrish scored the first goal with a beautiful strike from outside the penalty area. Ousmane Sylla, the team’s star scorer, scored their second goal with 20 minutes left to play.

Once Clemson scored the first goal, the Fighting Irish controlled the game for big parts of it but couldn’t finish off their many chances to score. Notre Dame (13-3-6) was trying to win its second title in program history. In 2013, it won the College Cup.

Joseph Andema, the Clemson goalie, played well, and the Tigers’ defense blocked several shots, including one by Parrish that required a lot of skill.

Notre Dame finally scored with a penalty in the 89th minute. It was the first goal Clemson gave up in the whole NCAA tournament, however it had been too late to come back from being down two goals.

To win the national title in 2021, Clemson had a rough start to the season but went on to win 14 straight games to finish the season.

They had a great season with a lot of big wins, but they lost in the regional conference and national playoffs. They were ranked fifth in the country.

No. 9 Clemson beat No. 2 Notre Dame 2-1 on Monday night to win its second national title in three years. Seniors Brandon Parrish as well as Ousmane Sylla both scored goals.

Clemson (15-3-5) is going to the championship game for the sixth time in school history and the second time in three seasons.

The Tigers have won the title three times, in 1984, 1987, and 2021. In the 2021 playoffs, the Tigers also beat Notre Dame.

He scored his eighth strike of the season in the 27th minute to make it 1-0. Parrish blocked a clearance attempt as well as sent a shot from far away that deflected past Bryan Dowd, who was trying to block it.

The Irish beat the Tigers 3-2 on September 9 in their first game of the season. It was tied at 2–2 when Parrish scored again in that game. In the 50th minute, Daniel Russo of Notre Dame scored the game-winner from a free kick.

In the last minute, Clemson lost the shutout. Tyler Trimnal touched the ball with his hand, and Paddy Burns of Notre Dame fired a spot kick past Joseph Andema in goal for Clemson.

Andema made three saves that night and shut out four out the Tigers’ five NCAA Tournament games.

The Tigers are only the seventh school to have won four or more national titles. They are also the fourth school in ACC history to win both the ACC championship or the national championship in the same year.
