MADRID, 1 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish international winger Nico Williams renewed his contract with Athletic Club this Friday after reaching an agreement with the Basque club to extend his contract for the next three more seasons, until June 30, 2027, as confirmed by the Biscayan club on its website.
The 21-year-old international, who is close to reaching one hundred games as 'León' (96), is one of the key players in the current Athletic Club squad and the top assist in LaLiga EA Sports with 5 assists on goals. Furthermore, Nico Williams, who has scored 13 goals in the red and white shirt, is also one of the most disruptive players in European football.
The red and white club has achieved a three-year renewal for a player for whom “very powerful clubs in Europe were pining.” “However, Nico Williams has opted to continue making history at Athletic Club alongside his brother Iñaki and the rest of his teammates,” adds the Athletic Club statement.
Athletic's '11' arrived in Lezama at a young age a decade ago, taking firm steps until he became a fundamental pillar in the first team. Furthermore, the youngest Williams, who played in the last World Cup in Qatar at the age of 20 and is considered a winger with an enormous present and future, signed his new contract this Friday in San Mamés, in the presence of the president of Athletic Club, Jon Uriarte, and the general director of Football, Mikel González.
“In the line drawn by the Board of Directors, Nico Williams' contract has a fixed salary structure with a variable component based on objectives,” the red-and-white club stated without giving more details of the new contract.
