The Cowboys got a “F” for their big loss to the Bills in Week 15, while the 49ers got a “A” for beating the Cardinals.
This week was good for passers who attempt to get their careers back on track. After Joe Flacco did some magic in the fourth quarter, the Browns defeat the Bears 20–17 in Cleveland.
He also closed with a perfect 158.3 QB rating, making him the first visitor QB in Lambeau Field’s history to do so. As the fourth quarter began, the Browns were down 17–7. Flacco answered by throwing over 212 yards in just that quarter.
It’s the longest streak by a Browns quarterback in any period since a minimum of 1991, if that makes you feel any better. It’s also the most points scored by a person in the final period of any game this season.
Baker Mayfield was another quarterback that had a great day. There were 34-20 wins for Tampa Bay. Mayfield completed 22 out of 28 passes for 381 yards as well as four scores.
Hi, Deebo Samuel couldn’t believe he was so open for San Francisco’s first touchdown. Soon after, Christian McCaffrey had a chance to catch a deep pass, fall with the ground, get back up, and run for a 41-yard score.
With Arizona’s defense being in a good mood, Brock Purdy’s return from the desert as the 49ers qb had been everything he could have hoped for. He also got up after taking a severe blow in the following quarter that made him miss some plays.
McCaffrey scored three touchdowns and Samuel scored two. With a 45–29 win over the Cardinals on Sunday, the 49ers won the NFC West title and extended their winning streak to six games.
“When I was in college, I would come hear the Cardinals play, and now I’m one of them,” Purdy said. “That’s really cool. Yes, it’s something I’ll remember and be grateful for ”
With four touchdowns, Purdy tied his career high for most touchdowns in an NFL game. The game took place at State Farm Stadium, located about 45 miles to where he grew up.
As of now, the 49ers have won all eleven games in a row by at least twelve points. Also, they’ve won 12 straight games against teams from the same division in the NFC West.
For the first moment since the 2011–12 season, San Francisco captured back-to-back division names. Everyone is going to give it their all, so the level of difficulty has to keep going up.
“It’s a big step forward for us to win the division,” McCarthy said. “But everybody knows that we want to be.” We know we need to play the highest quality ball every week.
McCaffrey got his second touchdown shortly into the third quarter. He sneaked out of the backfield and scored from 41 yards out, giving the team a 28–13 lead.
The rushing back was wide open, so he jumped to catch the ball, fell, got back up, and ran to the end zone.
Cluedy said, “He does everything for us.” “He can catch the ball, run with it,, everything.” That’s an MVP in my book.”
McFadden, who is 27 years old, had a great game. He ran for 115 yards as well as a touchdown and caught five passes for 72 yards.
In the late third quarter, he got there an additional time after rushing ahead one yard for a score and a 35-16 lead. In the fourth, Deebo Samuel scored his second touchdown catch, this time from 19 yards out. The score was 42–22.
After the Cardinals (3-11) chose to go for it on fourth-and-3, Ward grabbed Kyler Murray’s pass before Trey McBride could. This put the 49ers ahead for good.
Matt Prater of Arizona made two field goals in the second period, a single from 58 yards out and the other from 43 yards out.
This cut the lead to 14–13. The defensive back raced 66 yards on the other way to give his team a 14–7 lead, getting past two Arizona players.
Phoenix’s Dennis Gardeck gave Purdy a hard hit on the left shoulder in the second quarter, which caused him to leave for a short time.
Gardeck was given a 15-yard penalty. Late in the drive, though, the quarterback came back and hit McCaffrey for a 5-yard td with 1:14 left before halftime, making the score 21–13.
Cardinals boss Jonathan Gannon said, “We need to play better than that if we want to beat a good football team.” “We didn’t give up, but it got far from us in the end.” “Thanks for the effort.”
