With a 35–13 win across the Chicago Bears on Saturday, the Buffalo Bills won their third straight AFC East title. The Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens are both trying to make one last push to the AFC North title.
If the Ravens beat the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots or New York Jets lost, they would automatically make the playoffs. However, that race is still open.
The New York Giants’ quest to a playoff spot is still open after their walk-off loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys and couldn’t win the NFC East or the top spot in the NFC.
In Week 16, the Jets, Patriots, as well as Raiders all lost, which helped the Los Angeles Chargers. They also beat the Indianapolis Colts easily on Monday night, which helped them make the playoffs.
The Arizona Cardinals lost 19-16 in OT to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night. This gave them a one-game lead across the Carolina Panthers (6-9) and the New Orleans Saints (6-9).
It would be a wrap for the Buccaneers if they beat the Panthers in Week 17. They would also lock up the No. 4 place in the NFC and a home game in the first round.
The Green Bay Packers are still getting used to being in the running for the playoffs. However, they lost their last two games and are now once again looking at the outside.
Recently, the team went on a winning run of three games, which gave them a good amount of confidence.
That means Green Bay won’t be in the playoffs if the season ends today. It would be a second straight season, but with no Aaron Rodgers, the last three games won’t be as exciting.

Along with the Chiefs and Patriots, other teams have risen to the top of the AFC in recent weeks. In the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals dropped from first place to fourth place.
