MADRID, 6 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Brazilian forward Neymar Jr will not play again this season with French Paris Saint-Germain after his latest ankle injury will cause him to have to undergo surgery, as confirmed by the Parisian team on Monday.
The attacker injured his right ankle once again on February 20 in the Ligue 1 match against Lille and his club recommended that he finally undergo surgery to correct the damage and return to playing normally.
“Neymar Jr has had several episodes of instability in his right ankle in recent years. After his last sprain contracted on February 20, the Paris Saint-Germain medical staff recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid a greater risk of injury recurring. All the experts consulted confirmed this need,” reported the PSG.
The French champion, who will not be able to count on the Brazilian for the comeback attempt this Wednesday in the Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich after the 0-1 loss in Paris, indicated that this operation “will be carried out in the days” in a hospital in Doha and that the international is expected to be out “for three to four months before his return to collective training.”
