Next for Trevon Brazile to “Step Away” from the Razorbacks?
We might find out that Eric Musselman, the coach of Arkansas, had had enough after last week’s rout of Ole Miss. After that, Devo Davis “stepped away” with the Razorbacks, and Trevon Brazile began to be questioned.
After having an up-and-down season and missing a few games, Brazile hurt his knee toward South Carolina and then tweaked it some time to the first half of the game against the Rebels.
That same Saturday, they lost 64–57 to Kentucky, and he was unable to play either. Musselman wasn’t clear about that after the game.
Other guys turned the ball over and made fouls against us. We need to keep looking until we find something.
Musselman said, “He wasn’t close tonight.” “I’m not trying to be rude when I say I’m not a doctor, but he didn’t do anything that would be considered practice-related.” That’s what I’ll say.
I have no idea when he will come back. Pain in the knees… I don’t think you’ll wake up on Sunday or Monday because you weren’t able to practice and try it tonight.
When Musselman doesn’t want us to know about something, he often answers direct questions all over the place. This is especially true when it involves illnesses or the news that Davis is “stepping away.”
Musselman is likely much more worried about juggling this roster. He had to do that for 20 games straight and still wasn’t finding the right mix. But a great start with the Wildcats may have given him hope that he’s getting there.
That’s all that’s left for him to do: keep the ones he wants and get rid of the ones he doesn’t. Davis was the initial person to “step away.” Soon, we’ll know if he’s the sole remaining individual or if tons of people have left.
As Musselman put it, “We’ll just keep looking.” “Today we changed how we play, and it helped our defense a lot.” We changed certain of the ways we defend ourselves. It helped us a lot.
As the head of that program, you know, it’s my job to keep making changes. I would tell you right now, but I don’t have a response for that. Because T-Mark is wired to score, we put him there for a while, which made things hard for him.
Arkansas’s football team said on Saturday that senior Devo Davis quit the team. A one-sentence release said Davis was leaving just minutes beforehand the Razorbacks lost to Kentucky 63–57 at home.
He has been a reliable player for Fayetteville for four years. As a freshman, he started 17 games, as a sophomore, 14 games, and last season, he played in 31 games and averaged a career-best 10.9 points.
Arkansas, which was ranked No. 14 in the AP poll before the season, has been one of the worst teams in the country.
The Razorbacks are currently 10-10 overall and 1-6 in the SEC after their loss on Saturday. They lost by 26 points in Ole Miss on Wednesday.
It was unknown if Trevon Brazile, who started the initial 18 games of the season, would be able to play in Saturday’s loss.
Davis, a 6-foot-4 guard, has started eighteen games this season and has scored 6.3 points per game and shot 35.5%, which are both career lows.
The Arkansas Razorbacks, led by Coach Eric Musselman, are having a rough season. Trevon Brazile, a forward, is now having knee problems that make things worse for the team.
Mark and Brazile both have injuries, which Musselman confirmed on Friday. He said that both players will have to make game-time choices against Kentucky.
On Wednesday, they lost to Ole Miss 77–51. It was their ninth loss in total and their fifth within the Southeastern Conference.
They didn’t have their top scorer, Tramon Mark, against the Rebels because he has a migraine, and losing Brazile has made things even worse for the team.
Trevon Brazile did play against Ole Miss on Wednesday, but he had trouble because his knee hurt. The forward only played for 12 minutes as a substitute, instead of the usual almost 30 minutes.
Brazile missed the initial eight matches of the 2021–22 season because of an illness. He used the NCAA transfer portal to find a new team after Missouri fired coach Cuonzo Martin.
