New AFC and NFC records after Week 15 Beginning Slate: NFL Playoff Picture 2023–24

New AFC and NFC records after Week 15 Beginning Slate: NFL Playoff Picture 2023–24

After the games on Saturday in Week 15, the NFL playoff matchups are still very close and hard to understand.

This is likely to be a memorable last few games of the season. The Chiefs fell to fourth place among teams in the AFC playoff race after the loss.

Because of how crazy the playoff rankings are, we’ll no longer use divisions but instead use conferences from now on. We’ll talk about the ways that each team broke ties below.

As of the weekend, 11 teams in the AFC had winning records and 6 teams had 7-6 records. This was the most teams in a single conference via Week 14 since 1970. Take a look at the current results and what each team is up against as Week 15 goes on.

With their win over the Chiefs on Sunday night, the Packers are officially in the running for the playoffs. With a 6-6 record, they hold the seventh or final opening in the NFC.

The Ravens are two games ahead of the Browns in the division. They are also three games ahead of the Steelers after the Steelers lost their first game of Week 14 on Thursday night.

The Ravens came back to beat a different NFC rival, the Rams, in OT. As a result, they gained games on the Dolphins and Chiefs, who both lost.

The Dolphins missed a big chance to retake the top spot when the Titans beat them at home upon Monday night. They now only have a two-game lead over the Bills in the division.

A little more space between them and the Chiefs would have been good too. The Dolphins lost the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, and on November 18, they will play again in Miami. That game could decide who wins the East.

Following their loss to the Bills at home in Week 14, the Chiefs fell two games behind the Ravens and 1.5 games behind the Bears.

They only have a one-game lead over the Broncos in the division, and they aren’t eligible for the head-to-head rule either. They are still ahead of the Jaguars since they beat them.

After losing to the Jets, the Texans joined this group. The Broncos, Bengals, and Bills all beat important teams like the Chargers, Colts, as well as Chiefs, making it a six-team tie for third place behind the Steelers and Colts.

After losing, the Chargers as well as Raiders are almost ready to fade away like the Jets. The Patriots were out of the playoffs even though they beat the Steelers.

Since both the Rams and the Seahawks lost, they have a long way to go before they can pass the Vikings or Packers on the wild cards.

The Falcons or Saints should both work harder to beat the Buccaneers and take first place in their division. The Bears and Giants may have come too late, but they can still really mess things up.

The NFL season for 2023–24 will end on Sunday, January 7, 2023, after Week 18. There will be two games in the NFL playoffs to start the season on January 13. Wildcard Weekend will last until January 15. On February 11, 2024, the Super Bowl will take place.

The above picture, which will be changed every week throughout the 2023–24 NFL season, now shows the 2023–24 NFL Playoff bracket. It was last changed after Week 15 of Sunday Night Football.
