Neuer will play again this Saturday after ten months out

BERLIN, Oct. 27 (dpa/EP) –

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will return after his serious injury this Saturday in the Bundesliga match against promoted Darmstadt, the team’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, announced this Friday.

“If everything goes well in training, he will play tomorrow. He is very excited and so are we. I am sure that many other people are also excited,” Tuchel said at a press conference.

Neuer spent more than ten months away from the playing field after suffering a broken leg during a vacation in December 2022, just after the Germans’ early elimination from the World Cup in Qatar.

Neuer has not played since December 1, when Germany faced Costa Rica in the World Cup. With Bayern, his last game was on November 12, 2022 against Schalke.
