Natxo González: “I find it incredible to come out with zero points”

Natxo González left upset by Fernando Torres. The Málaga coach clearly understands the result and the defeat to be unfair. He considers that his team generated more than the rival and worked well defensively. But the problems in attack are the endemic evil of the Blue and Whites.

Evaluation of the meeting: “The assessment is clear. We have reached the opposite area a lot, much more than the rival and the effectiveness in the opposite area is what has decided the game”.

Andres Caro: “Andrés has been in the general line of the team. I am satisfied”.

Changes: “I wanted to freshen up the top. We were arriving well, quite clearly, we were missing the last pass, definition. The game was totally controlled. The only thing the rival could do to us so far was danger from set pieces, which is his best resource. We were reaching the top, more and more spaces and freshness”.

Brandon’s mistake just before Fuenlabrada’s goal: “That is the difference and the frustration. We have to reach the opposite area a lot, in very advantageous situations. We missed that bit of luck with Kevin’s stick. With fewer occasions the rival penalizes you a lot. They have thrown us once or twice between the three sticks and they have put us. It’s hard for us in the last few meters and that penalizes you”.

What is it that weighs you down the most? “The attacking game is what weighs us down the most. Defensively we are fine. You look at the number of times they’ve shot us between the three posts in the last few games and they’re shooting us once every game and it’s going inside. The team is fine defensively, there are always things to improve because perfection doesn’t exist. But what is penalizing us is the opposite area. We are arriving a lot, we are looking for many resources and situations to arrive and we are doing it. But we are lacking success and fortune at specific times”.

Does it alleviate the defeat of Real Sociedad B?: “Nothing relieves me, I’m screwed. I don’t care what the others have done. It’s hard for me to digest losing on this field with the game we’ve played. That’s what’s spinning around in my head. The rest I have no control over. It seems incredible to me to leave this field with zero points. I have lived it many times and football is this. The points are for those who score goals and they have scored one and we haven’t”.
