Nairo Quintana returns to the Movistar Team


The Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana will ride with the Movistar Team, his team from 2012 to 2019, in the 2024 season, the telephone squad announced this Saturday, confirming the return of “a symbol of its recent history.”

Quintana, 33 years old, thus returns five seasons later to a team in which he played from 2012 to 2019. “The team led by Eusebio Unzué opens its doors to a legend of its sports structure, one of the cyclists who has achieved the greatest success for the Telefónica brand at the stage in which it has sponsored Abarca Sports since 2011,” he indicated.

With Unzué’s team he won a Giro d’Italia (2014) and a Vuelta a España (2016), in addition to being second twice and third overall in the Tour de France and finishing second again in the transalpine round.
