Nadal intensifies his preparation ten days before Wimbledon

MADRID, 16 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal continues to intensify his preparation on grass to arrive in the best conditions at Wimbledon, the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the season, which takes place from June 27 to July 10, after having been seen this Thursday in the tracks of the Mallorca Country Club of Santa Ponça.

The Balearic player, twice champion in London (2008 and 2010), maintains his training plan less than two weeks before the start of the third ‘big’ of the course. This Thursday, the man from Manacor left good feelings on the pitch, an apparent sign that he intends to play at Wimbledon.

Nadal will announce his decision soon, but his training sessions suggest that his presence at the ‘All England Club’ is closer after the break after winning the fourteenth Roland Garros of his career. However, his problems with injuries will mark his contest.

The Balearic revealed that he played undercover in many Paris games to try to endure the pain. At 36 years old, and aware of the limitations, he recognized that he had to receive two injections prior to each match and even underwent radiofrequency sessions so as not to miss the appointment on the Parisian clay.

The Spanish tennis player, who is currently number four in the ATP ranking, has options to achieve the historical record of lifting four ‘majors’ in the same season after winning in Australia and Roland Garros. The last tennis player to do so was Rod Laver in 1969.
