Nacional and Peñarol score points, Rentistas continues as leader

With four days to go and with a less played match, the surprising Rentistas continues as leader of the Uruguayan Apertura Tournament and is excited to raise the cup in the same season in which he returned to the First Division.

On the eleventh matchday, those led by Alejandro Cappuccio equaled 2-2 with Progreso, while Nacional drew 1-1 with Defensor Sporting and Peñarol 0-0 with River Plate.

These are the five keys to the day:

A TIE THAT IS WORTH A LOT

Rentistas equaled 2-2 with Progreso and remained the leader of the Apertura Tournament. With five wins and five equalities, those led by Alejandro Cappuccio are the only undefeated in the competition and they still owe a game that could give them the lead alone.

HE ESCAPED IN THE HOUR

A goal by Álvaro Navarro after 92 minutes of play gave Defensor Sporting the tie against Nacional, which was won by Argentine Gonzalo Bergessio. Now the tricolor share the top with Rentistas, but with a more played match.

DOES NOT RAISE HEAD

Peñarol drew 0-0 against River Plate and was sixth in the standings. So far the coal has four wins, four draws and three falls.

TECHNICIAN WHO DEBUT DOES NOT LOSE

After six days without a win, Cerro won 2-1 against Boston River in the match that marked the debut of Juan Jacinto Rodríguez in the team's technical direction. The goals of José Luis Tancredi and Emiliano Villar served to fulfill a football maxim: a coach who makes his debut and does not lose.

WIN AND CLOSE

Montevideo City Torque defeated Montevideo Wanderers 2-1 and placed fourth in the standings three points from the top. The goals of the winning team were converted by Álvaro Brun and Matías Cóccaro.
