Nacho Baltasar and Pilar Lamadrid, best Spaniards at the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games

MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Nacho Baltasar, with second position, and Pilar Lamadrid, with sixth, are the best Spanish representatives at the Lanzarote iQFOiL Games, the event that closes the 2023 season of what will be the new Olympic class in Paris 2024 and which is dominated by the Israeli Sharon Kantor and the Dutch Luuc Van Opzeeland.

In the men's fleet, which on the second day this Tuesday completed five races, the Balearic Nacho Baltasar, Olympic representative next year in the French capital, progressed compared to the first day
and stood on the provisional podium.

And if at the premiere there was a lot of equality and a triple tie in the lead between the Italian Nicolo Renna, the Frenchman Nicolas Goyard and the Dutchman Kiran Badloe, the second day changed everything and Van Opzeeland, current world champion, took command, who achieved two partial victories, a second, a fourth and a seventeenth.

The Dutchman was placed in first position with a total of 14 points and already eight ahead of Nacho Baltasar, who achieved a victory, and other good results such as a third, a fourth, a fifth and a sixth to climb up to ten positions in the table and enter the fight for the last title of the season. Third place goes to another Dutchman, Joost Vink, six points behind the Balearic Islands.

For her part, in the women's fleet, the Israeli Sharon Kantor did not let up and after clearly dominating the first test, where she won all four races, this Tuesday she achieved two more wins and two third places to maintain an advantage of four and seven points over her compatriots Katy Spychakov and Tamar Steinberg.

The Spanish Pilar Lamadrid, third after Monday's day, did not have her best day with some partials 11-13-2-4 that provisionally place her in sixth position overall, although only ten points from the podium.
