“My revenge is going to be terrible after what I’ve been through”

The Real Valladolid player, Pablo Hervias, He assured this Thursday, at a press conference, that his “revenge“, after what he has suffered during the last seven months, “with three surgeries and a lot of pain”, “it’s going to be terrible“, since he has an “incredible desire” to make up for lost time.

In the last match against Tenerife, he enjoyed ten minutes of play, which put an end to a “tough stage” in which he thought that his professional career “could have ended”, since “despite the operations, the pain never subsided, and nothing was advanced, which was a huge frustration”, he acknowledged.

“Fortunately, I pulled mental strength, I went day by day, trying to be positive and looking for that way out, and I managed to get here. I have overcome a terrible injury, a nightmare that I don’t wish on anyone, and now all I want is to enjoy every training session and every minute of the game,” he said.

He is aware that “many players who have also had cartilage problems, they had to withdraw of the playing fields”, for which he considers himself privileged to have been able to overcome such a complicated situation “thanks to the support of many people, teammates, family and physiotherapists”.

He has acknowledged that he stopped “having discomfort” after the game against Cartagena -three weeks ago- and, although he admits that “there is always some sequel”, to play he is “one hundred percent, wanting to contribute everything possible” during the minutes granted by the coach, to achieve the goal of promotion.

“I find myself with a lot of confidence in myself and those ten minutes against Tenerife, since I felt very well physically and asked for all the balls, to make the most of every moment, which is what I intend to do, every day, every time I step onto the pitch”, he insisted.

He is aware that Real Valladolid counts “with almost two complete templatesin which there are great players”, but he believes that he can contribute “imbalance, crosses and set pieces” in this final stretch of the league, in which there is so much at stake, and he is confident that he can have more opportunities.

He has admitted that during this time that he has been injured he has not seen “no football“because he preferred” not to watch games “, not even those of his team “because he suffered a lot”, but he has “enjoyed other sports”, which has “helped” him overcome the pothole.

Although his position is extreme, Hervías has indicated that he is not in conditions to choose and the only thing he wants “is to play, where the coach considers that more can be done, either at the end or on the side, since in that position more balls are also touched”.

Questioned about his continuity in the blanquivioleta team -since his contract ends this year”- he has detailed: “It seems clear that I am not going to continue at Real Valladolid, since nobody has said anything to me, but right now I don’t think about it. The only thing I want is to enjoy football, my teammates, traveling, going to Oviedo and being able to play more minutes”.

In your opinion, the team “is very good, with a lot of confidence and, probably, at his best, but you have to remain humble and compete to the maximum in all fields, since none is going to be easy, regardless of the position the rival is in”, he concluded.
