MADRID, 4 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis player Jaume Munar surpassed (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) this Friday the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro to get into the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Santiago de Chile, an appointment in which the Balearic is finding his best version of the year.
Munar arrived in Chile this week with only one match won in 2023 and, with his third win on Chilean soil, he is one step away from fighting for the first title of his record. In the semifinals, the Spaniard will face the local Nicolás Jarry or the German Yannick Hanfmann.
The Spaniard made it 3-1 in direct duels with the Brazilian, whom he beat last year at Wimbledon and in 2021 in Barcelona, redirecting a serious match in the third set to victory. Before, Munar’s start had been groundbreaking but in the second act Monteiro took advantage of a ‘break’ in the fourth game.
