Bad news for José Mourinho. João Sacramento, the Portuguese’s assistant coach at Roma, leaves the Italian team. Mourinho is left without his right hand on the benches. João Sacramento already accompanied ‘The Special One’ in his time at Tottenham and was still with him in the new Roma project. Although he had a contract with the team yellow and red until 2024, he has decided to fly free. This was announced by João Sacramento on his social networks: “2021 ends with the end of a two-year cycle with Mr. José Mourinho. Working with you was a dream, I am very proud of it and I will be eternally grateful. I wish you good luck.”
Sacramento wants to try his luck as head coach and has decided to break his bond with Mourinho. At 32, he has already had offers from important clubs both in Portugal and France. Salvatori Foti will replace João Sacramento to accompany Mourinho.
