The Generalitat Valenciana and Dorna, the organizing company of the Motorcycle World Championship, they have signed a contract renewal agreement that unites them since 1999 whereby between 2022 and 2026 at least three major prizes will be held on the circuit Ricardo Tormo of Cheste.

As explained by Dorna's advisor, Carmelo Ezpeleta, and the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, having been the first of the four Spanish circuits to sign this renewal has allowed the Grand Prix of the Valencian Community to achieve the best conditions. “As Cheste's has been the first Grand Prix to reach an agreement, do not rotate in the first year in which there is rotation and maintain the right to be the one who closes the calendar“, said Dorna's manager.

Ezpeleta added that in consideration of being the first to understand this new situation, in the event that any of the new circuits does not arrive on time or directly does not host the competition, “Valencia does not rotate”.

“I would like it to be five editions, but nor I can offer more than three for the obligations we have. We have 24 contracts and if we remove two, we will have twentyids, which is the maximum we can reach, “he said.

“We appreciate the compression that the Generalitat has had. Hopefully the rotation will occur in the best conditions,” said Ezpeleta, who said that the idea is to close similar agreements with the other three Spanish circuits as they have already done with that of Portugal and that rotate the five Iberian circuits.

Puig admitted that they would like Cheste to continue closing the World Cup every year but that “the most important thing is that the championship goes well” and added that those who manage it “know how to make it more powerful and durable”.
