Morocco excludes Ziyech from Africa Cup

Hakim Ziyech is the big absentee in Morocco’s list for the Africa Cup, which will be played in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6. Vahid Halilhodzic, coach of the Moroccan team, left the Chelsea winger out of his call. The Barcelona player Abde Ezzalzouli, who has not yet debuted with Morocco, is the big news.

Ziyech had a discussion with Halilhodzic at the beginning of the year and the coach did not call him for the six qualifying games for the Qatar 2022 World Cup played between September and November. Despite being the great star of Morocco, the Chelsea player is also left without the Africa Cup.

Halilhodzic also excluded Noussair Mazraoui from the list, whom he accused at the time of faking an injury to avoid having to go to a friendly, something that Mazraoui denied.
