More than 150 young people from the United Kingdom, Guatemala, North America and Singapore arrive in Spain to train with LaLiga

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

More than 150 young talents from countries such as the United Kingdom, Guatemala, Singapore, the United States and Canada have completed intensive learning immersions this November at the ESC LaLiga & NBA Center.

The LaLiga Training Stages program, high-performance stays developed in Spain for international teams and players, was consolidated with the opening of the ESC complex, which was thus positioned as the nerve center of LaLiga's grassroots football promotion projects, although there is accumulated experience since 2015 in this type of programs.

Since the launch of the LaLiga Academy sports projects, more than 220,000 male and female players have received training from top-level coaches under the LaLiga methodology in different programs, including footballers who have experienced Training Stages stays at the Center ESC LaLiga & NBA.

These programs are aimed at professional teams, national teams or international academies, who work to increase their competitive level by combining training, workshops and matches against LaLiga youth teams such as Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF or CD Leganés, and the teams own of LaLiga Academy Madrid, LaLiga's international academy in Spain.

The head of LaLiga Academy, Francisco Javier Hernández, acknowledged that they are “very satisfied with the consolidation of the high-performance stays program.” “It shows the interest that exists in these types of high-quality programs,” he said.

“In addition to helping footballers raise their competitive level through workshops and training, the stages offer the 360º experience of the LaLiga ecosystem, with official visits to stadiums, museums such as Legends or sports cities. In addition, they have the opportunity to play matches with the youth teams of LaLiga clubs and with the talents of LaLiga Academy, our long-term project at the international academy in Madrid,” he continued.

The head of LaLiga Sports Projects, Juan Florit, recalled that they have been working on sports projects of this type “since 2015, thus accumulating outstanding experience, learning and know-how.” “More than 220,000 players from around the world have been trained under the LaLiga methodology, which in turn represents the philosophy and foundations of the work models of the quarries of the LaLiga clubs EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion, international benchmarks in youth team work and the development of young players,” he said.

“Our holistic vision has as its pillars aspects such as the comprehensive development of the player, the improvement and individual optimization of performance or the improvement of cognitive capacity and understanding of the game. These types of programs help to generate a context of growth opportunities, visibility and improving the level of competition for these players,” he continued.

One of the stages carried out has been a selection of young talents from Singapore within the agreement with LaLiga promoted by the Singapore government, Sport Singapore and the country's Football Federation and which represents one of the pillars of the long-term project 'Unleash the Roar! (Releases the roar)'. The project is a roadmap to enhance the local football ecosystem and unite the nation around their common aspirations for Singapore football. This is the second long-term stage at the ESC Center within the agreement, after the success of the one held in November 2022.

Another of the stages is LaLiga Select, a talent detection and development program launched in 2021 by LaLiga North America together with ISL Agency and is part of the entity's strategy to support the growth of soccer in the United States. The United States is the second country in the world in number of federated soccer players, with more than four million.

Completing the list of notable stages is a stage for young footballers from the United Kingdom, a country where LaLiga Academy has LaLiga Camps UK, which has already accumulated two editions, and another with players from a Camps program that had its first phase in Guatemala, which shows LaLiga Academy's commitment to the Latin American region, where it is growing with projects in countries such as Peru, Colombia or Argentina.
