More than 10,000 people participated this Sunday in the ‘Carrera de las Empresas by Santander’, which returned this year to the center of Madrid, with two routes of 6.5 and 10 kilometers.
In one of the most popular popular team events, 3,393 teams from 739 companies participated, including sponsors Banco Santander, Hotmart, HP, Decathlon and Securitas Direct. In this edition the individual category has been released, so that the self-employed could run in the event.
In addition, the companies made donations to CRIS against cancer, which will allocate the amount raised to an innovative trial against colorectal cancer, the second deadliest after lung cancer.
The marathon world champions Abel Antón and Martín Fiz, ambassadors of Sports Santander, attended the test on the 25th anniversary of that spectacular duel they fought at the World Cup in Athens in 1997.
The Carrera de las Empresas by Santander continues in virtual format. The more than 1,000 runners registered throughout Spain have until 11:59 p.m. this Sunday to register their time, in a race that has featured renowned competitors, such as the Olympic water polo players Anni and Clara Espar, or Álex Roca, the first athlete with cerebral palsy in completing the mythical Titan Desert.
