Jon Moncayola has reason to be happy. In one year, has debuted with the first team in an official match, has renewed his commitment to Osasuna until 2024 and has now been called up for the first time with the U21 National Team. Luis de la Fuente has included the Navarrese midfielder in a list of twenty-three players ahead of a qualifying meeting for the European of the category. The national team will face Macedonia at the National Arena Todor Proeski in Skopje, in a duel to be played on September 3 and in which the Navarrese youth squad could debut.
Moncayola was happy after hearing the news: “I just got the news. I have spoken with Jagoba too and I am very happy. I think it is a reflection that things are being done well. I also want to thank my colleagues for everything they have helped me to make this possible and hopefully it will be the first of many ”. And he added: “It is also a reflection that we have been doing things well in Tajonar for some years.. Now young people come like Javi Martínez who was also in the national team, Iván Martínez … and hopefully there will be many more, Aimar or those who come. At the level of Spain, the U21 have high quality players. I will try to learn from them and do my best ”.
