MADRID, 16 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was “happy” with the victory this Sunday in the Clasico against FC Barcelona, with a 3-1 in a “great game” in which they also knew how to “suffer”.
“We are happy for the victory, for the game we have played, very happy, we wanted to thank the people for the great atmosphere they created today,” he said in statements to Dazn collected by Europa Press, explaining the final gesture with the public.
The white team made the lap of honor after beating their eternal rival at the Santiago Bernabéu, in a hard-fought victory. “We knew that we were going to have a time where we were going to have to suffer because they handle the ball well. There we had to give more of each other and defend strongly and suffer and we have done it”, he affirmed.
“Then we were very forceful up front, we scored three goals and we were very happy with the game. We had a great game in my opinion. Thank the public. This is the best thing that can happen to a player, that people show you so much affection”, he added .
Finally, Modric referred to a Ballon d’Or for Benzema that everyone takes for granted. “We all know what’s going to happen with Karim and we all want it to happen tomorrow. Very happy for him, let’s hope he wins tomorrow because he deserves it for everything he’s done,” he concluded.
