“Even though we don’t have breasts or ovaries, we’re alive.” This is how they spoke to an excited audience, which filled the hall of the Alfonso XIII hotel in Seville, the exceptional models who paraded last Friday in the XI edition of the catwalk We Love Flamenco, created in its day by the top model Andalusian Laura Sanchez, together with the Sevillian businessman Javier Villa. This special parade has been held for years for the benefit of the Foundation Sandra Ibarra.
Flamenco fashion week, which ended on Friday night in the Seville capital, always dedicates one of its catwalks to the association created by the model Sandra Ibarra, Twice cancer survivor. The first time she detected the disease she was 20 years old and when she believed that she had overcome it, she relapsed seven years later. She today, she is 48 years old, she is fully recovered and prettier than ever.
Sandra lives dedicated in body and soul to help those who suffer from this disease, their families, to provide material means to health facilities, and to give enthusiasm and encouragement to those who have overcome it.
Every year, the foundation brings together dozens of survivors, during a weekend in an Andalusian town, to meet again, exchange impressions, do activities, and why not, have fun.

The models that paraded this Friday in Seville were all women who had suffered from cancer; who were undergoing treatment or still in full disease. Some of them, who had been in bed for a month, worn out by chemotherapy, got up to dress in ruffles, drawing strength from weaknesses, like other of her companions, ready to star in her big day.
The illusion of feeling loved, accompanied and valued encouraged them to get on the catwalk. And there, they waved their fans, shawls and faralaes and even marked sevillanas or flamenco passes, with enviable spirit, while many of the attendees wept with emotion at the courage of these brave women.
Journalist Juan Ramon Lucas, Sandra’s boyfriend for many years, he had never attended this show and was impressed by an atmosphere full of joy and good spirits of these unique models, “without breasts or ovaries”, but more women than ever, whose motto this year was The desire, win.
