Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a Roma footballer, has openly complained in a post on one of his social networks that he has not been selected by Armenia for the next friendly matches. Mkhitaryan points to “unconvincing reasons” those that have been given by the coach Joaquin Caparrós to leave it out of the call.
Mkhitaryan, captain of Armenia, has already been out in Caparrós' last three games due to injury. Of the nine games led by the Spanish coach, he has only played two. Armenia is one of the surprises in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup with three wins in three games against Liechtenstein, Iceland and Romania. In none of the triumphs was Mkhitaryan.

“For my surprise, I have been informed by the technical staff of the Armenian National Team that, for various reasons, I was not called up for the next international matches. The official reasons are not convincing to me. However, I am with the boys and wish them the best of luck in the games to come, “wrote the Roma footballer. Mkhitaryan has scored in the last four games for the Italians and had regained form after a complicated year. Serie A finished with 13 goals and 11 assists.
Armenia has set two friendlies in this pre-Eurocup break. On day 1, Croatia is measured and on 5, Sweden. Mkhitaryan is the national team's all-time top scorer with 30 goals since he debuted in 2007.
