Millman, 65 of the world, had already recently won against Verdasco in the tournament in Cologne (Germany). This game may be the last of Fernando's season, unless he changes his mind and signs up for the 1,000 Masters in Paris.
In other meetings of the day, American Frances Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals by defeating Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic, 7-5, 6-3, and the also american Seventh-seeded Tommy Paul got rid of Moldovan Radu Albot, 6-4, 6-0.
Kukushkin comes back against Delbonis and meets Paire
Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin beat Argentine Federico Delbonis 6-7 (5), 6-3 and 6-2 in the first round of the Astana tennis tournament.
In 2 hours and 32 minutes the local player signed his comeback, victorious in his coming out of the tournament.
