Miguel Ángel Jiménez wins his ninth Champions Tour title in Hawaii

MADRID, Jan. 19 (SportsFinding) –

The Spanish golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez conquered this Sunday the Mitsubishi Electric Championship, his ninth title in the PGA Champions Circuit, thanks to a 'putt' of almost four meters with which he won the second playoff hole against the South African Ernie Els in the Hualalai tour, in Hawaii (United States).

The Malaga repeated the title he won in 2015 in a tiebreaker to three, also with a Fred Couples who fell from the 'play-off' in the first hole, after putting the batteries in the last nine holes on Sunday. Jiménez linked 'birdies' on 13, 14 and 15, to close tied in the total of -14 with Els and Couples.

The 'Pisha', which does not fail his appointment with the victory in any of his seven years in the veterans circuit, won an Els who made his debut this season in the first tournament of this Champions Tour, where Jiménez already joins Nine titles

“I told my caddy, 'the winning result is going to be 15 under par, we need to accelerate and get to do' birdies'. I did three straight, 14 under par and here we are,” he said with the trophy.
