The former player of the Celtic and the Real Madrid Míchel Salgado heads a project that aims to promote grassroots football in the Maldives.
The company Real Hispania MS2, whose CEO is Salgado, signed an agreement with the Federation of Soccer of Maldives to develop a project that promotes and develops soccer in the Asian country.
The program they will carry out, as detailed by the Galician Football FederationIt will be developed in phases until it is completed in six years.
The first step will be the launch of 18 soccer academies throughout the archipelago and a High Performance Center in the capital, Malé.
Eight professionals are present at this stage, seven of them Galicians, and one Portuguese: Blas Charlín (general coordinator), Fran Caínzos, Abel Lorenzo, Jhon Ríos, Iñaki Cabaleiro, Eduardo Gonçalves, Ángel Oliveira ‘Pacho’ and José Valera (physiotherapist) .
The selection, recruitment and training of new values from 8 to 18 years old, the advice and training of local technicians or participation in international tournaments are among its tasks.
