Former German player Michael Ballack underwent surgery five weeks ago from a benign tumor near the spinal cord. This is reported by the newspaper Bild, indicating that during an MRI the doctors discovered the tumor by chance. Thanks to this early arrest, the former Bayern Munich player was able to undergo surgery in a clinic in Hannover where the tumor was removed five weeks ago. Although the laboratory examination confirmed the best of the news, that it was a benign tumor and not a malignant one, the operation was delicate due to the complicated location of the disease.
To this day Ballack is on vacation passing convalescence in Portugal. From there he will see the Champions League final that his former team, Bayern Munich, will play against PSG. Ballack was never able to lift the Orejona although he reached two finals, one with Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 where they lost against Real Madrid and another with Chelsea in 2008 in which they lost to Manchester United.
Despite this, the midfielder reaped a great career accumulating titles in his different teams, Kaiserslauten, Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, like four Bundesligas, three German Cups, a Premier League or three F.A. Cups among others.
