Messi extends Argentina’s unbeaten record with a brace in three minutes against Jamaica

MADRID, 28 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Argentine soccer team beat Jamaica (3-0) in the second friendly of the international team break with a fleeting exhibition by Leo Messi, who acted as a shock and in 35 minutes he achieved a double to sentence the match in three minutes, by which prolongs his unbeaten record to 35 games.

Argentina closes the last window before the 2022 Qatar World Cup with another win in which Lionel Scaloni’s team is running as one of the big favorites. First it was against Honduras, again with another two goals from the Argentinian star of Paris Saint-Germain, and this time it was Jamaica, besieged by the albicelestes, owners of the ball with a stellar Messi since he entered the pitch in the 56th minute.

Julián Álvarez, the young Manchester City player, maintained his idyll with the goal by opening the scoring in the first fifteen minutes after an assist from Lautaro Martínez. In the second half, Messi entered the field and it didn’t take long for him to intimidate an impotent rival defense in the face of the repeated arrivals of the Albicelestes.

But it wasn’t until 86′, when the captain of the national team scored the second after a shot from outside the box. Thus, three minutes later, he would show off his deployment again to make the final 3-0 with a direct free kick.

A triumph that allows Scaloni’s team to prolong its undefeated streak with 35 games, and equal Spain (2007-2009) and Brazil (1993-1996). Two wins away is the Italian team (2018-2021).
