Memphis comes back from Minnesota in a modest game by Santi Aldama

MADRID 21 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish power forward Santi Aldama has not been able to repeat his memorable performance of the weekend in the NBA and has gone unnoticed this Monday in the victory of the Memphis Grizzlies against the Minnesota Timberwolves (108-106), a duel that the Tennessee team managed to overcome in the final stretch.

After scoring 29 points against the San Antonio Spurs and winning the duel with Frenchman Victor Wembanyama, Aldama posted modest numbers this Monday at the FedExForum in Memphis that led coach Taylor Jenkins to leave him without minutes in the last quarter.

The Canarian interior scored only two points – 1 of 8 field goals, missing all seven three-pointers he attempted – in the 14 minutes he was on the court, in which he also captured two rebounds and offered an assist.

The Grizzlies, with Jaren Jackson as a reference in attack (24 points), trailed throughout the entire duel and faced the final quarter with about a five-point deficit that they managed to neutralize. Anthony Edwards, top scorer for the ‘Wolves’ and the game, missed the final triple and left the victory at home.

In this way, Memphis ties its third consecutive victory and sits in third position in the Western Conference with a mark of 28-15, still far from the leader Oklahoma City Thunder (35-7). Minnesota (22-21) is ninth in the same conference.
