Mazraoui will not be removed from Bayern after his pro-Palestinian statements

MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui will continue in the team and will not be sanctioned after his statements in favor of Palestine in the war with Israel, ensuring that both the Moroccan international and the German club are opposed “to the Middle East conflict and its violence will move to Germany.

“Bayern is convinced that football must develop its power to balance different cultures, especially in the most difficult moments. Noussair Mazraoui will remain in the FC Bayern squad, but is currently sidelined due to an injury he suffered during a match international with the Moroccan team,” reported the Bavarian entity.

Last week, after the Hamas attack against Israel and the Israeli response in the form of bombings against Palestine, the 25-year-old full-back published a video on social media wishing victory to the Palestinians. “God, help our oppressed brothers in Palestine achieve victory. May God have mercy on the dead, may God heal their wounded,” he noted.

This Friday, Bayern explained that it had had a “detailed and clarifying conversation” with Mazraoui. “Noussair Mazraoui has credibly assured us that, as a peace-loving person, he resolutely rejects terrorism and war. He regrets that his publications have caused irritation. FC Bayern condemns the attack by Hamas against Israel,” said the general director of the club, Jan-Christian Dreesen.

“FC Bayern and Noussair Mazraoui are firmly opposed to the Middle East conflict and its violence being transferred to Germany, which is committed to peace. Hatred and violence of any kind have no place in Germany’s political culture. “FC Bayern is on the side of the Jewish community in Germany and on the side of Israel; nothing justifies the murder of children and families,” the club added in the note.

The statement also includes a few words from Mazraoui. “I condemn all types of attacks by terrorism and any terrorist organization,” said the Moroccan according to the note published by the Bavarian entity.

In this way, Mazraoui will not be sanctioned, as happened to Mainz forward Anwar El Ghazi, who was removed from his team’s training sessions and matches after writing a pro-Palestinian post.
