Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje will fight for the BMF title.

Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje will fight for the BMF title.

Justin Gaethje will defend his BMF title against Max Holloway, who used to be the UFC featherweight champion, at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas, UFC CEO Dana White said on social media Tuesday night. White said that the fight is set to be five rounds and will be a lightweight match.

Dustin Poirier was knocked out by Gaethje at UFC 291 in July 2013 to win the BMF title. Before, Jorge Masvidal beat Nate Diaz in 2019 to become the initial winner of this legendary title.

Masvidal was never scheduled to defend the vague title, which is only given to the most exciting fighters on the squad. Gaethje and Holloway meet that requirement in a big way.

White also said on Tuesday the fact that Jim Miller will fight Bobby Green in UFC 300. Miller has won and fought more times than anyone else in UFC history.

Miller will be the merely fighter to have competed at UFC 100, UFC 200, and UFC 300. Only Brock Lesnar has fought in the Octagon besides Miller at UFC 100 or UFC 200.

He has won two consecutive matches and a total of seven of his most recent nine. He is from Arizona but trains in Colorado. He has 12 fight-night awards from 12 UFC fights. Gaethje, 35, used to be the temporary lightweight champion of the UFC.

In his last five fights, Holloway (25-7) has won four of them. He has won two straight fights. From 2019 to now, the man from Hawaii has only lost to one man: three times for UFC featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski. Holloway, who is 32 years old, has hit 3,197 of the most important strikes in UFC history.

The second title fight set for UFC 300 is Gaethje vs. Holloway. On the show, Zhang Weili will defend herself UFC women’s strawweight title against Yan Xiaonan. This is the first time in UFC history that two Chinese fighters have fought for the same title.

UFC 300 is set to happen on April 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The second fight, which is for the belt, is expected to be very exciting.

A five-round lightweight fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway will take place at this important event.

Justin Gaethje (25–4), who has challenged for the UFC lightweight title twice, is going to defend his “BMF” title.

Gaethje, who is from Tucson, Arizona, won the title by knocking out Dustin Poirier with a head kick in the second round last July within Salt Lake City.

In March 2023, the 35-year-old boxer kept up his winning run by beating Rafael Fiziev by majority decision in London.

Holloway was in a strange situation because he was beating other ranked fighters easily but had lost all three of his fights against the current champion.

Max Holloway (25-7), on the other hand, beat “The Korean Zombie” Jung Chan-sung by knockout in the third round of the tournament last August.

He is 32 years old and used to be the featherweight king of Hawaii. In April 2023, he beat Arnold Allen by a majority decision in Kansas City.

In a recent video message, UFC President Dana White announced that a lightweight fight has been added between Jim Miller (37-17, 1 NC) of Sparta Township, New Jersey, and Bobby Green (31-15-1, 1 NC) of San Bernardino, California.

The first title fight for UFC 300 was announced last week. It is a highly awaited matchup between two-time women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang (24-3) as well as No. 2 ranked challenger Yan Xiaonan (17-3, 1 NC).

Zhang will defend her UFC women’s strawweight title in this fight. After beating Dustin Poirier in July, Gaethje (25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) wanted to fight Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title.

But White just recently announced a title-qualifying fight between Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan. This made a lot of people outside of the fight asking what would happen to Gaethje.

The first person to protect the BMF title will be Gaethje if he wins. He will also make it three wins in a row. He comes into the April 13 fight having already beaten Poirier and Rafael Fiziev.

This is Holloway’s second move to lightweight in the UFC. He is now 25-7 in MMA and 21-7 in the UFC.

Holloway has beaten many rivals but not the king and is known as the finest UFC featherweight who isn’t called Alexander Volkanovski.
